When the client approached us, they needed design in all aspects to insert their branding essence. Bowtie History is a tour company that provides history tours based in China and other part of Asia for individuals, companies, universities and consulates internationally.

Brand Identity with A Story

Inspired by the look of 19th century postcards, we hand-drew a design using a bowtie on the collar of a vintage shirt. In addition, we added an actual stamp from the Qing Dynasty to give it an authentic look. The design is reminiscent of classic postcards from a forgotten era and appeals to those

who remember (or still do) sending postcards to loved ones about their vacation. This design was crucial in helping Bowtie History find a way to connect their guests with a unique way to experience history, by revisiting the story and trails of the foreigners who lived in China over 200 years ago.

Branding Extension to Tours, Events, and Trade Fair

Following the same concept of the brand, everyone can investigate the history and stories as a historian and experience life 200 years ago. We were inspired by a Canton vintage map, heritage sites, along with elements like a feather pen, a magnifying glass, and an old compass, depending on the nature of the tour or event.

Complementary Gift Set

Specially designed for the guests and following the main visual concept of each tour and events, the complementary set consists of a set of vintage postcards, which were selected by Bowtie History for their special value. These postcards tell from 19th and 20th century Canton, like the Australian Architect Arthur Purnell holding kangaroo on Shameen Island. One of the postcards was a special edition to mark a scavenger hunt event, marked with the actual date, hinting that we are part of history today like those from our vintage collection.
